This book, as it states, is all about dealing with and managing depression in the workforce, offering a practical guide for both employees and managers. It covers the difficult issue of how, if you are an employee, you seek help if you are struggling with depression, mild or serious, at work. The book takes the approach that depression should be treated as any other illness, although it does mention that it there is often a stigma attached to it which prevents sufferers from disclosing their illness. There are a number of signs managers need to look out for in their staff that might indicate that all is not well. This is in order to tackle the problem earlier rather than ignoring it which could prevent the need to manage a more serious problem further down the track.
