Our mission is to make quality, evidence-based health information and education accessible to Queensland women so that they have the confidence to make informed decisions about their health and enjoy healthy living at every stage of life.
Who we work with
Women’s Health Queensland Wide Inc (Women's Health) are specialists in women's health across the lifespan. From the south east to the far north, Queensland women rely on us to help them make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. Our specialist team of health professionals provide coaching, support and information to women of all ages and at all stages of their health journey.
We have a commitment to proactively reaching women who:
- are experiencing disadvantage
- live in regional, rural and remote locations
- who may otherwise not have access to support or quality healthcare
- are unable to speak openly about their health issues
- are of any age
- come from all social and cultural demographics, including those from an Indigenous background.
I first connected with my midwife Kirsty towards the end of my pregnancy and always looked forward to our calls. It was great to have an ongoing relationship with the same midwife and for someone to focus on me, as well as my baby.
After having the baby, Kirsty was there for me when I was at my worst. I was sleep deprived, feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice and had recently been diagnosed with postnatal depression (PND).
I had this light bulb moment during our conversation where she said to put aside all the advice and asked me "what did I want to do?” It was hard to find my way as a gentle mum, and her words of encouragement gave me the confidence and clarity to parent the way I wanted. She offered sensible and common sense approaches, and I really appreciated that I could be myself.

Health Educator, Belinda ran a series of women’s health workshops for our branch of the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA). Reliable advice, particularly for sensitive women’s health issues, is hard to come by in remote areas. You often have to wait for a women’s health nurse to visit, which may only be a couple of times a year. So it’s nice to know what to look out for, what is normal and not normal, what options are available to you and that you can call someone at any time and chat to them.
I love Belinda’s way of presenting. She is so easy and comfortable with the topics that it relaxes women immediately. Women might walk in worried if they will have to share something embarrassing with other members of our small communities. Belinda puts them at ease and it doesn’t take long before people are laughing, talking and even revealing things they probably thought they never would.
I cannot recommend the workshops highly enough for any group of women. It is a great way for women to get together and feel connected, learn something about themselves and break down the stigmas about our bodies and how they function.
